Day 1: Red Currant

So, first day of the thirty. My theme for this 30 days-challenge will be "my countryside", trying to capture the surrounding in which I grew up. This sounds like there will be a lot of landscape shots but I'll start of with a macro of one of our red currant bushes instead:

Soon to become home made pie, juice or something else delicious:).

  1. Wow, that's gorgeous! Fabulous colour combinations and a great selective DOF to highlight those delicious berries and reduce the impact of the leaves. Nice one!

  2. Very nice use of DoF and opposite colors to let those berries pop. And bring on those landscapes, I heard Sweden is gorgeous :D

A beautiful DOF and a great green background, that goes perfectly with the red berries.

  14. The red and green colors are so vivid and they really complement each other. Can currants be eaten straight from the stem? They look so juicy.

  16. This made me check the few berries that are growing in my backyard to see if the birds and/or neighboorhood children have beaten me again in eating them.

  17. This is the only one I've commented on since the challenge started, and I just had to, because I think this is my favorite so far, even though it's only day 7!! :) This is a truly beautiful shot, I love the colors and composition - basically just everything about it! :) Good job!
